Excellent Option For Me – 10 Inch Netbook Review

The amount of “bloatware” from Toshiba is crazy! There are a bunch of apps that you really don’t need on a netbook like this.

I really like Toshiba laptops, so the netbook version was an easy choice. Just wish the battery was less heavy and the keyboard less plastic-sounding.

This is exactly what I needed – lightweight, small and easy to carry without sacrificing screen quality and processing speed. The keyboard is extremely comfortable for its size, the screen crisp and clear.

With iPad there’s a lot of incompatibility issues and requires hassles to download a lot of software just to visit certain sites. For a third of a price of an iPad, I have a very sleek looking gadget that does a lot than I expected. I was shocked at how long it can stay on without charging it up. This solves the installation hang-up, as well as resolving the driver issue (11.04 now recognizes the driver without a problem). It is somewhat time-consuming, but well worth it. Made the computer run much faster, with 1 GB of RAM it seemed slow to open documents and webpages. The screen is bright and easy to read.

So I went online, did some research, and went to best buy and bought it for 279. First off, it is built very nicely. The keyboard is just a shrunken version of my old laptop so it works great. As far as performance, I am upgrading from that ten year old laptop with only 512 Mb ram so I am cooking right now. If you just need something small that you can use on the go this is exactly what you need. The better than average netbook keyboard really sets it aside from the competition. So, in order to upgrade to 2 GB RAM you need to buy a 2-GB RAM stick and toss away the 1GB RAM stick. Be careful since the screen is easy to break.

Overall it’s just a nice functional little computer, perfect for word processing, taking notes in class, and surfing the internet. I wouldn’t want to use it for any sort of heavy duty graphics processing but I love the fact that the battery lasts at least 8 hours, on pretty average settings too not even the extreme power saving mode. I have older Toshiba laptops with excellent experience, in fact they are still working (WIN98, 450Mb HD, 64Mb RAM)! I decided to take the risk and bought the netbook from Amazon. Sure there are others out there with more bells and whistles but for the price I got exactly what I wanted and needed. The battery life is awesome. It’s plenty loud and sounds fine. I also upgraded to windows 7 home premium, which boosted performance in my opinion.

I have had several Toshiba Laptops in the past and they all performed flawlessly. OFFICE FILING CABINETS WOODEN.
