Shopping for computers and accessories was a lot easier in the 1980’s. It was really exciting because it was such a new experience for the consumer.

We were all so in awe of the technology. The first half of this decade is when it became somewhat normal to have a computer in your home but it was still rare enough that it was exciting. It was exciting to both the computer owners and to their neighbors.

It wasn’t uncommon to find the whole neighborhood gathering in one home to see what new game was available for download on the hottest BBS followed by hours of playing Summer Games and Centipede or whatever else we could all agree to spend our time on.

Having the ability type on a screen and edit it before putting it on paper was like living in a Sci-Fi movie but for people that like to type letters. My Mother loved it!

A lot of time has passed since my Dad brought home the Commodore 64. Since then we have come to expect a lot from out computers and their accessories. We are no longer blown away by the ability to backspace in order to erase a mistake.
